Terms of use

The terms for using GameVault X, written to be read. The most important part is section 5: the lock is in the app, never in the door.

1. The agreement

These terms apply when you download and use GameVault X and the GameVault X Admin web tool. The app is provided by Markus Wallgren, trading as Wallgrn Studios, Sweden (“we”). Apple's standard licence also applies to the app (Licensed Application End User License Agreement). If these terms conflict with Apple's standard licence, Apple's terms apply as between you and Apple.

2. Your right to use the app

You may use GameVault X on Apple devices you own or control, in line with the App Store Usage Rules. Schools, clubs and companies may use the app in their activities, for example in teaching, at parties and at events. You may not copy, resell, decompile or try to bypass the app's purchases and protections, except where the law expressly allows it.

3. Purchases and refunds

Premium Escape Pack is a one-time purchase made through the App Store. The price is shown on the App Store before you buy. The purchase is tied to your Apple Account and can be restored with Restore purchases in the app's settings. Payment, receipts and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms, and you can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

4. Your content

Everything you create in the app is yours. We make no claim to your adventures, text or photos. You're responsible for having the right to use the material you add and share, such as photos, video, audio, music and text. Only use photos or recordings of other people if they've agreed. Content that is illegal, abusive or infringes other people's rights must not be created or shared with the app.

5. Staying safe while you play

GameVault X is a digital lock for play and learning. The lock is in the app, not in the door.

  • Never actually lock anyone in. Every door must open from the inside and emergency exits must stay clear.
  • Children should have an adult nearby for the whole game.
  • Don't hide clues where someone could fall, get trapped or get hurt.
  • Watch your surroundings while hunting for an AR treasure.
  • Flashing effects and sounds can be unpleasant for some people. Use Reduce effects when needed.

6. Games from others

Game keys and game files from others are their content and their responsibility. We don't review shared games. Only import games from people you trust.

7. The GameVault X Admin web tool

The web tool is provided as is and may change or shut down. Don't upload illegal or sensitive material. We may remove material that breaks these terms. See the privacy policy for how data is handled.

8. Updates and availability

We develop the app continuously and may add, change or remove features. New versions may require a newer version of iOS. Keep important adventures as a .gvxproject backup. Because everything is stored on your device, we can't recover lost data.

9. Limitation of liability

The app is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect damage, lost data or injuries arising from physical games and activities. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. The date at the top shows the current version. We'll mention significant changes in the app's release notes.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swedish law. If something isn't working, please contact us first and we'll try to sort it out. Consumers can also turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN). As a consumer in the EU, you always keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your home country.
